The Project is Not Abandoned!

Wow, I cringe when I see the last time I've posted on here.
BUT THE PROJECT IS NOT ABANDONED!
It's just super hot to go out and catalog stuff, and then I don't know what to take pictures of. Right now though, I'm working on making up lists of what goes into each box (hopefully I'll be able to post about that soon) and checking inventory to see what I have for each age category.
Thanks so much for supporting me in this project! Please continue to pray for the girls who will receive the boxes, and for donors to give generously. Thanks again!

Super Sales Shopping - 100D4100G Style!

When you think about sales, what do you think of?

Well, for me, I think of a great OCC shopping spree! For example, exactly two weeks after Valentine's Day this year, my mom and I went on a super sales shopping spree - 100Dolls4100Girls style!
It was fantabulous.
We hit around six or eight Dollar Generals (all within a twenty/thirty minute radius!) and wiped out their Valentine's Day things on sale. Well, except for cards and chocolate. :D
One of the jackpot trips, we walked out of there with four HUGE, stuffed bags for only like, five bucks. It was great!

We got all sorts of stuff - and it was all super girly!

Craft kits, little boxes...

stuffed animals, jewelry, containers, stickers....

plastic bags (for soaps and other small things)...

school supplies such as pencils and pens...

jewelry..

Wanna take a guess as to how much each thing was? They had it marked 90% off, and then on some things, it ended up being 50% off that sale price.... so we got a lot of things for five cents each. Insane. But for example, these pretty pink and red rose necklaces - we got three in the package and the set was 10 cents.

A.m.a.z.i.n.g. I am SO thankful that God allowed us to be able to do this!

Lots and lots of craft sets for either 5 or 10 cents each...

pretty pink and hearts pencils!

At first we didn't think we were going to get these, but we ended up getting them for putting the soaps or stickers in. :)

A TON of stickers for just 10 cents! We can split them up into several different little plastic bags!

And there we have it, the huge haul we got for 100Dolls4100Girls!

Why am I telling you this two months (exactly) after Valentine's Day? Well, for three reasons. :)
1. Because I forgot to do it after Valentine's Day.
2. Because Easter is coming up.
3. So that you will go out and get stuff for OCC!

Easter sales are what I'm looking forward to a LOT - stuffed animals, baskets, etc.
If you have DGs in your area, go hit them! I suggest you wait about a week or two after Easter.....
I'm super excited about how 100D4100G is coming along! Today actually, I wasted an entire half hour trying to redesign the blog but I kinda ended up going back to the original. :)

100 Dolls 4 100 Girls Update

This is super exciting! It's February 24, not even halfway through the year, and we already have 22 dolls!
There are SEVERAL varieties and it is so neat how God is working in this project!
Here's a picture of several other dolls that are part of the special 100!

Other items that we have so far (you can see more in the inventory) are..

sewing kits, which my friend and I made (the same friend who helped with the soaps!) and they include:

thread, ribbon, safety pins, a needle, buttons

(side view)

These will go in the older girls' shoeboxes.

Our clothing supply is also growing, which is very exciting!

The older girls'...

The middle girls'...

The youngest girls'..

The fun and colorful washcloths will be so neat for the girls to have!
We have nearly half the amount of soap we need - 47 bars to be exact!

Here are the ones that were made several weeks ago, which you read about in the last post.
Thanks so much for reading and supporting!
We appreciate all the prayers and donations, and remember, if you have anything to donate, let me know through our contact page!

An Adventure in Soap-making

❤❤❥❥❤❤❤❤❤First of all, I am so sorry for this blog being so un-updated (I guess that'd be outdated, right?). Even though this blog has been a bit inactive (okay, a lot) the project most certainly has NOT been! We've been working really hard and if you check out the inventory (it hasn't been updated since our last batch of stuff) page, you can see all the amazing things people have donated!
A couple weeks ago, my best friend came over and together we made soaps for the project!
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
First, we started with soap blocks, melted them down and added coloring, and then..
.. poured them into old muffin tins (believe me, this is NOT the color of most of them)..
And let them set.

We ended up making 36 soap bars! It was super fun and really exciting!

THE FINISHED PRODUCT....

It was so cool to see these rows of soaps for the shoeboxes!

I think it's so cool that by next year, these soaps will have gone across the world! And believe it or not, we still have another batch to make (yes, a smaller one).

This was my very favorite one - the color is stunning!

Ta-da!
A HUGE thanks to my amazing friend for all her help!
If you have anything for the project to donate, please contact me through the contact page! I'm still praying for teammates to join the team and for all the girls who are going to receive these!
I hope to post at least once a week, with an update for you guys!
